“I approach each patient by treating the whole person. Obviously I treat the spine as a chiropractor, but treating extremities is also a big part of what I do. Being a chiropractor allows me to help people with other issues as well. Through Functional Medicine I am able to help patients with problems that may respond well to dietary changes, supplementation, and other modifiable lifestyle factors. These methods allow me to treat the root cause of health problems rather than just treating the symptoms as traditional medicine does.”
-Steven Zellers, DC
Practicing both Chiropractic and Functional Medicine, Dr. Zellers focuses on individualized care. An expert in multi-technique chiropractic work, such as manual adjusting, drop table adjusting, and instrument adjusting, Dr. Zellers personalizes each adjustment to the patient while investigating the root cause of pain with functional medicine.
Dr. Zellers earned his B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science from Penn State University in 1996 before graduating from New York Chiropractic College in 2007. He has been practicing for over 15 years.
Although his primary focus has been diversified adjusting, his range of modalities include drop technique, instrument-assisted adjustment, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and soft tissue manipulation. He also likes to incorporate low-tech rehab exercises and in-home stretching programs to facilitate patient recovery.
He has also certified in Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice certification from the Institute of Functional Medicine.
Alongside his wife, Mary, Steven enjoys hiking and biking with their two kids, Nathan and Alexandra, watching their sporting activities, and having family game and movie nights.
